Pesto alla carrettiera is a typical simple recipe, quick to make, tasty and belonging to the rural tradition of eastern Sicily.
There are several versions, ours, includes dry tomato (basic food of peasant cuisine), black olives (olives that are produced in abundance in Sicily) and chilli (the absolute favorite spice from the regions of southern Italy).
It is recommended to use it as appetizer on toasted bread and croutons.
Dried tomatoes, black olives, chilli, sunflower oil, extra virgin olive oil, oregano, parsley, garlic, acidifier: citric acid and lactic acid.
May contain traces of milk, celery and nuts (pistachio, almonds, walnuts).
