Product history and connotation/territory

From one of the oldest fruits of Sicily, an extremely intense violet, almost black, consistent, aromatic and very fragrant jam is born.

Once mulberry cultivation was among the most widespread on the island, before giving primacy to citrus cultivation in the 18th century.

Today mulberry cultivations are concentrated mainly on the slopes of Etna, where the small fruit is born to become an important ingredient in the confectionery industry, especially in the black variant.
